How the app syncs with the web
The iPhone app saves every change straight to your Lifetick account, so the web shows it too. Pull down to see changes made somewhere else.
There's nothing to set up. The iPhone app and the website read and write the same account, so a goal, task or journal entry you add on one is on the other.
How it works
- Changes save straight away. When you add or tick off something in the app, it's saved to your account at that moment, not stored on the phone for later.
- Screens load fresh. Each screen in the app loads from your account when you open it. To see something you've just changed on the web, pull the list down to refresh. This works on Home, Goals, Dreams, Journal, Reports and inside a goal.
- Coming back to the app checks again. When you switch back to Lifetick, it reloads your account, including your subscription.
- On the web, reload the page to see a change you've just made in the app.
When you're offline
The app needs a connection to load and save. If it can't reach Lifetick, a bar appears above the tabs:
- No connection. The phone has no internet.
- Can't reach Lifetick. The phone is online but Lifetick didn't answer.
What you'd already loaded stays on screen. The app keeps trying by itself, or you can tap Retry. When it gets through, the bar goes and the screens load again.
If the bar says Not saved, the change you just made didn't reach your account. Make it again once you're back online.
Make sure it's the same account
If something you added on the web isn't in the app, check you're signed in to the same account on both:
- On iPhone, tap Settings on Home, then My account. Your email is under Sign in.
- On the web, the account menu at the top right shows your name. Settings shows your email.
If you started on iPhone with Get started, your account has no email yet, so you can't sign in on the web. Save it first. See Install the iPhone app and sign in.
