Reminders aren't arriving

Reminders come from each task's Email reminder setting and go to the person it's assigned to, in their time zone. Check the task, your settings and iPhone notifications.

Lifetick sends task reminders by email, and as a notification on iPhone if you've allowed them. If they've stopped, check these in order.

Check the task

  1. Is a reminder set? Open the task. On the web the field is Email reminder:, on iPhone it's Email reminder. None means no reminder.
  2. Does it have a due date? Reminders count from the due date, so a task without one doesn't get any.
  3. Who is it assigned to? On a shared goal, the reminder goes to the person in Assign to:, not to you. A task set to Anyone can complete doesn't send one.
  4. Is it still open? Completed tasks don't get reminders.

Know when they're sent

  • On the day, 1 day before, 3 days before and 1 week before send one reminder, counted from the due date in your time zone.
  • Daily, Weekly, Fortnightly and Monthly repeat until the task is done. They go out once a day at around midnight your time, so look for them first thing in the morning.
  • All your reminders for one day come in one email, such as "You have 3 task reminders today".
  • Lifetick takes your time zone from your browser when you sign in on the web. If you've moved or travelled, sign out and sign in again on the web.

Check your settings

  • Overdue task emails: when a task is a day overdue, you get one email about it, as long as Send me overdue task notification emails is on in Settings.
  • Turn off all reminders: reminder emails have a link at the bottom, Turn off all reminders from my goals, tasks and dreams. Using it clears the reminders on all your tasks. Set them again on each task to get them back.
  • Check spam for mail from [email protected].

iPhone notifications

The app asks to send notifications once you've added your first goal or task. If you said no, turn them on in the iPhone Settings app, under Lifetick and Notifications.

Notifications go to phones that are signed in. Signing out of the app stops them on that phone. Check-ins are sent by email only, not as notifications.
