Answer a check-in on iPhone

Open check-ins wait at the top of the Journal tab. Tap a number for each 1 to 5 question, write a few words, then Send to your manager.

Works on iPhone Team Checked 30 Oct 2026

When your manager's check-in opens, you get an email, and it waits for you in the Lifetick iPhone app. Your answers go to your manager, the same as answering on the web.

Answer it

  1. Open the Journal tab. An open check-in sits at the top, such as Answer your weekly check-in, with the week and how many questions it has. It shows under All and Coaching.
  2. Tap it. The check-in opens with who it's from, when it's open until and each question.
  3. Pick a number. For each 1 to 5 question, tap a number from 1, Hard, to 5, Great.
  4. Write a few words. Type in the box under each written question. These can be left blank.
  5. Send it. Tap Send at the top right, then Send again to confirm. Send stays grey until every 1 to 5 question has a number.

Once it's sent you can't change your answers, so the app asks first. Choose Not yet to keep going.

Finish it later

Tap Close. What you've written is kept as a draft, and the row in Journal changes to Finish your check-in. Your manager doesn't see a draft. You can also finish it on the web, where your draft is waiting.

A check-in stays open until the next one goes out. After that it closes and says This one closed when the next one opened, so it can't be sent now.

After you send it

  • It shows in your journal. Tap it to see Your answers.
  • When your manager replies, their reply shows beside your answers. Tap Reply to answer them in Messages on the web.
  • If they mark it done without replying, it says they've read it. Until then it says Sent. No reply yet.

If you don't answer within a day, Lifetick emails you one reminder, except for daily check-ins.

In a school account, check-ins are called reflections and go to your teacher. In a coaching account they go to your coach.
