Who can see what

On your own, nobody sees your goals unless you share one. In a team or school, your manager sees your goals and check-in answers, but not your journal.

Who sees your goals depends on whether you use Lifetick on your own or as part of a team or school.

On a personal account

Your goals, tasks, dreams, journal, trackers and reports are yours alone. Nobody else sees them unless you share a goal.

When you share a goal, the person sees that one goal and its tasks, and what they can do depends on the role you give them:

  • Supporter: sees the goal and its tasks, and comments.
  • Collaborator: also adds, changes and ticks off tasks.
  • Co-owner: also changes the goal and who it's shared with.

They don't see your other goals or your journal. See Share a goal or add a supporter.

In a team or school

When you join an organisation, your manager can see more. Your organisation may call them a coach, teacher or mentor.

Your manager sees
Goals and tasks Yes, except goals you mark private
Dreams Yes
Check-in answers Yes, including your 1 to 5 answers
Journal notes and trackers No, they stay private to you
One-on-one notes Only the ones they share with you
Messages to other people Never
Your password Never

To keep a goal to yourself, tick Keep this goal private from my manager when you add or edit it on the web. See Keep a goal private.

You can check this at any time. On your Dashboard, the card about your manager has a link such as What Sam can see.

Others in your organisation

  • Other managers and team members don't see your goals, unless you report to them or share a goal with them.
  • Admins, and people with a role that covers everyone, can open anyone in the organisation and see what a manager sees.
  • Check-in answers go to your own manager. Admins see how many people answered, not the answers.
  • Admins can export goals and tasks, and journal activity, for everyone in the organisation. Private goals are left out.

When you join, your existing goals come with you, and the join page tells you how many your manager will see. See Who can see your answers for check-ins in more detail.
