Single sign-on
A team or school can have its people sign in to Lifetick through the organisation's own identity provider. We set it up with you.
With single sign-on, everyone in your organisation signs in to Lifetick with their work or school account, through your own identity provider. Nobody needs a Lifetick password, and when someone leaves your directory they can no longer sign in.
Anyone can also sign in with Google, Microsoft or Apple on a personal account. That's different, and is covered in Sign in and reset your password.
Turn it on
Single sign-on is for team and school accounts. It isn't a setting you can change yourself: email [email protected] and we'll connect Lifetick to your identity provider and turn it on for your organisation.
Once it's on, it applies to everyone in the organisation: owners, admins, managers and team members, or teachers and students.
Signing in
- Enter your email. On the Lifetick sign-in page, type your work email under Email and choose Continue.
- Sign in with your organisation. Lifetick sends you to your organisation's sign-in page. Sign in there as usual.
- You're in. You come back to Lifetick, signed in.
On iPhone, choose Continue with email and follow the same steps.
What changes for your people
- No Lifetick password. Entering a password sends people to your identity provider instead. Continue with Google, Continue with Microsoft and Continue with Apple don't work for them: Lifetick says Your organisation signs in with its own single sign on. Enter your email address to continue.
- No password resets. Forgot password doesn't send a reset email. Passwords are managed in your directory.
- Welcome emails have no temporary password. New people sign in with their work account.
- Add people to Lifetick first. Single sign-on signs in people who already have a Lifetick account in your organisation, with the same email address. It doesn't create accounts. Add or invite people as usual. See Invite people with one link.
- The email must match. If the account someone signs in with at your identity provider has a different email from the one they typed, Lifetick won't sign them in.
To remove someone from Lifetick as well as your directory, deactivate or remove them in Lifetick too, so they stop counting towards your bill. See Deactivate someone.
